Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram is actively involved in resolving the issue of potable drinking water in Junnar Taluka (Tehsil) of Pune District of Maharashtra. As part of these efforts, digging of Borewell and Tree Plantation was carried out in the Hadsar village near Manikdoh.
Mr. Sudhir Barve, an Engineer from Pune is residing in Milton Keynes in England. He organized Marathi people and collected donations for resolving this water problem and donated it to Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram. Borewells were dug in the villages of Hadsar near Manikdoh and Aahupe in Ambegaon Taluka (Tehsil) of Pune District of Maharashtra. Fortunately, both the borewells had lot of water. The activities of installing Motor Pumps and Electricity connection are in progress.
Tree plantation was carried out at both the places mentioned above. It has also been decided to carry out plantation activities actively and regularly in the next few years.
Both these villages are perfect for Eco-tourism and are rich in flora and fauna. Forest Resources, Medicinal Herbs and Raanbhaji are found in abundance in and around these villages.
Mr. Narendra Pendse of Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram and Mr. Sudhir Barve paid a visit to Hadsar village. They inspected all the work that had taken place and planned all the works that has to be done in the future.
Villagers expressed their hope and wish that Vanvasi Kalyan Ashram will play an important role in solving the problem of potable drinking water and roads in Junnar Taluka (Tehsil) of Pune District.
